The Armory #
The Armory shows characters from Open Vanilla realms: search by name, pick a realm, and browse the rankings (level, achievement points, honorable kills, each profession) and realm firsts.
A character page shows worn gear (enchants, sets, durability), stats, both talent specs, achievements, professions, reputations and honor. The data is exported from the realm every 10 minutes, so changes show up shortly after you log out.
Who can see your character #
You choose, in game: Social (O) → settings → Armory.
| Setting | What happens |
|---|---|
| Public (default) | Anyone can find you; you appear in rankings and firsts |
| Friends only | Only people with your private link can see you. The game shows the link to copy; New link retires the old one. You're left out of search and rankings, and a realm first shows as "a private player" |
| Hidden | No Armory page at all; guilds count you but never name you |
Never on the Armory, whatever you choose: your account, IP, mail, bags, bank, money, chat, guild notes and guild bank.
Guilds #
Guilds lists every guild (search, realm, faction). A guild's page shows its roster, classes, professions and recent achievements; members set to Friends only or Hidden are shown only in totals. Looking for one in game? See the guild finder in In-game features.
The realm list #
Realms is the live list, in three tiers: Verified realms, Community realms hosted by players, and Verified nodes. Filter by type (PvE, PvP, RP, RP-PvP), template (Vanilla Remastered or Vanilla) and "has room". Private realms are never listed. To join one, see Realms and friends.
Streamers and creators #
- Streamers shows who's live now and who's coming up, from Twitch, YouTube, TikTok and Kick.
- Creators collects videos and shorts (filter by topic, class, platform) and a Creator of the month board: hours streamed, audience and videos published. It resets on the 1st, and it's a thank-you, not a contest with prizes.
Players embedded on these pages load only when you click them.
Link your channel #
- Sign in at play.openvanilla.app/ow/creator-link.html.
- Add your channel name (one per platform).
- Prove it's yours: put the code you're given (it looks like
OW-7K2Q9M) in your Twitch About text or a live title, or your YouTube channel description. You're listed within about 15 minutes, and can remove the code afterwards.
TikTok is confirmed when staff connect it; Kick channels are added by staff.
The LIVE mark in game #
Other players can see a ● LIVE mark on you (friends list, /who, tooltips, Persona) when all three are true: you ticked Show me as LIVE on the link page and named your character, your channel is live right now, and in game Social → settings → Show me as LIVE is on (it's off by default). /live lists who's live and where to watch.
Share what you're listening to #
Off by default. When on, your Persona shows "Listening: title – artist", nothing more.
- Desktop: launcher Settings → Privacy (Windows media or Spotify).
- Browser: the game page's ☰ menu → ♫ Listening.
Don't want to see other people's? Persona setting Show what others listen to.
The node network #
Nodes explains the volunteer network that helps relay connections and seed downloads. Becoming a node is optional, capped by bandwidth limits you set, and listed with what is and isn't shared. It's in a test round. More in Realms and friends.
Your privacy #
The short version of privacy.html:
- No ads, no analytics, nothing sold.
- The realm stores a password verifier, never your password. The launcher can remember your password encrypted with Windows' own protection, and sends no crash reports or files.
- Sign in with Discord only gets your identity and permission to add you to the server; it never sees your Discord password or messages.
- Herald keeps your Discord ID and name, your join and gate dates and your adventurer number.
- You must be 13 or older. To delete your data, ask on Discord.
The terms in one line: it's a free, non-commercial fan project with no Blizzard files; no harassment, cheating, exploits or attacks; one person per account; accounts may be reset during the alpha; Workshop content belongs to its authors.
